Raime launch their RR imprint by syphoning the top layer off of weightless grime and post-hardcore with a three-suite soundtrack of proper muscle-tensing sounds, landing somewhere between the bombardment of life online, flitting between YouTube channels of UK garage and Japanese anime soundtracks.
While the earliest Raime sides explored the silent spaces in between post-punk and industrial, their Different Circles debut 'Am I Using Content Or Is Content Using Me?' and this deadly slice 'We Can’t Be That Far From The Beginning' have moved things up a level and towards the duo's shared loves of dub, jungle, grime and dancehall.
Yet as this is Raime, the feeling that each and every sound has been carefully placed and constantly redefined over and over until it is considered absolutely perfect is strongly evident throughout. While this isn't music made by and aimed at engineers only, we would argue that Raime is more than anyone operating within these fields right now and truly have their own sound. This is properly unique music and one of, if not the most essential records in their almost a decade strong catalogue yet. Discipline in every sense of the word.
