Soundman Chronicles boss Parris turns up on Peverelist’s Livity Sound for an EP of typically off-kilter techno. The two Parris originals on Puro Rosaceaes are a mite more welcoming than the foreboding numbers which made up his last release, 2017’s 2 Vultures EP. ‘Soft Touch’ and the title track are still characterised by tentative stop-start grooves and suspended synth chords, but there is some real warmth here too. ‘Soft Touch’ has a bit of old-school hip-hop in it too. Sandwiched in between these we get Gunnar Wendel’s Jan Jelinek-esque take on ‘Puro Rosaceaes’.
