Having first been brought to our attention via the highly impressive 'Pipe Dreams' LP in 2017, Mary Jane Leach debuts on Manchester's Modern Love with a deeply moving album of (f)lute songs. Each of these four pieces was composed for flute and voice between 1985-2018. Presented here they act as a perfect siren call accompaniment to the labels previous glacial constructions from The Stranger, Demdike Stare and Andy Stott. This wonderful album has been selected and sequenced to make for one of the year’s most perfect minimalist informed album, quietly lose yourself within its tranquil drones.
