As with each and everything he releases, Cloudy is just an absolutely next level lesson in how to roll beats. It's so cold we’d be surprised if it didn’t freeze your turntable cables upon contact. The fluidity to the beats could match say Monolake or Objekt for sheer weight and inventiveness within the structure. Yet this is purely a LDN ting, inspired by the “suffocation & intoxication” of the stresshead trap that is living in modern London. Beneath perfectly continues the roots ‘n’ future feel of the capital's bass-heavy complexity. Each track scratches out any direction drawn in the concrete for where everyone else making this sort of dub/dread/techno/jungle should be heading. No symbols indeed...
