After a run of releases on labels like Bandulu and No Corner the Bristolian upstart Boofy debuts on Tectonic with the In My Head EP. This is a record that balances the hard techno leanings of the Tectonic stable with Boofy’s own penchant for dub, dancehall and other soundsystem styles. In particular the title cut and ‘Back In The Box’ are head-down, brow-furrowed amalgamations of dembow rhythms and twittering drums. They recall the best moments of Equiknoxx’s Colon Man LP.
