Now this is a fun one. Silicon Teens burst onto the scene back in 1980 and proudly announced themselves as the world’s first manufactured electronic pop group. And manufactured they were - while all of the tracks on their debut LP Music For Parties were made by Daniel Miller, boss of the then-infant record label Mute. Miller would buss in a range of actors including the legendary Fad Gadget for any Silicon Teens media appearances, making the band something of a Boney M for the digital age. The group’s kitschy synth-pop style fits well with that vibe.
