Turkish sound artist Koray Kantarcıoğlu has their 2016 cassette Loopworks reissued by Discrepant (Felix Blume, Kink Gong). Kantarcıoğlu does to Turkish music of the ‘60s and ‘70s what James Leyland Kirby has done to British inter-war jazz as The Caretaker. On Loopworks the Ankara-born musician degrades samples of funk, jazz and more with great swathes of tape hiss and static. The result is an eerie listening experience that will be a treat for fans of the hauntological.
