The promising Ouri follows up her 2017 full-length Superficial with a new EP for Ghostly International. We Share Our Blood goes further in cementing the Montreal-based artist’s reputation as a highly original talent. The five tracks here avoid easy categorisation. ‘Down’, ‘K-Yen Dreamin’ and ‘Escape’ fuse the futuristic r&b of Kelela with a lo-fi production style that blends grime, house and techno. It’s a unique sound and one that we expect to hear plenty more of in the future. For now, though, we’ll have to be satisfied with this excellent record.
