Objekt returns to PAN with Cocoon Crush, his second album for PAN and first new material minus one heavy plate on his synonymous white-label imprint since 2014. Having been locked in his lab for the past four years endlessly crafting the sounds of tomorrow, Cocoon Crush finds Objekt diving down the studio wormhole towards more introspective horizons than the spiky early hours club gear that he built his reputation on. Exploring a more introspective side, Cocoon Crush explores themes of human interaction and ruminations on a spectrum of self-described complex moods that create a dialogue between his machines. As expected, the sound design is utterly flooring and sounds unlike anything/one/else out there today. While his previous album Flatland explored youthful exuberance, Cocoon Crush slows down the tempo to explore the space between the beats, and as such it makes for one of the most fascinating yet crushing electronic records of the year.
