Peter Broderick returns to Erased Tapes (Nils Frahm, Olafur Arnalds) with his score for the award-winning animated film Two Balloons. The five-part ‘Two Balloons’ suite is a stirring bit of contemporary classical composition. Strings and piano dance in and out of one another in a manner that brings to mind a more intimate rendering of Michael Giacchino’s score for Pixar’s Up. The EP closes out with ‘Techno For Lemurs’, a lengthy cut which weds the chamber beauty of ‘Two Balloons’ to a skipping dancefloor pulse.
