Annie Hall’s Statics EP is a collection which combines influences of classic IDM and Detroit electro. While the whip-crack drums of these tracks mean that Statics packs a punch on the dancefloor, there is a tenderness to many of the textural choices here which is derived from 90s practitioners like B12. Mattheis’ remix of ‘Lavandula’ takes Annie Hall’s original down a bit more of a Tresor route, though the production remains cosmic.
