The likable Foodman returns with a new LP on Sun Araw’s Sun Ark Records (Wanda Group, Hookworms). The one born Takahide Higuchi has long been one of the most playful producers in the world of electronic music, and on Aru Otoko No Densetsu he finds a fruitful middle ground between his eccentricities and his capabilities. Across these dozen tracks Higuchi draws on everything from techno to glitch to micro-house while never really settling on any one style. It makes for a curious and charming listen that is closest in style to artists such as Jan Jelinek, Oval and early Four Tet.
