Lullabies For Insomniacs (Garland, Million Brazilians) drop a sort-of collaborative record between Unearthed Noise and Dreamspeak. We say sort-of for two reasons - firstly that UN is simply the solo project of Roger Berkowitz (who, along with vocalist Myrh, forms Dreamspeak), and secondly because the acts handle one LP apiece on And The Light Beams Will Guide The Way. With Berkowitz involved in both projects there is a good through-line to this record of New Age plunderphonics that makes for a well-structured record. Dreamspeak’s hallucinatory vignettes may be pitched for the Shambala crowd, but by a pleasing twist of fate they often end up somewhere between Dresden Dolls, Bonobo and Cankun.
