Beijing-based producer Shao (sometimes known by his full name Shao Yanpeng) drops his first full-length record for Tresor. Doppler Shift is a great addition to the famed label’s catalogue. The dark, dubby techno sounds that make up cuts like ‘Sensi’ and ‘Reflection Pt. 1’ would sound truly mighty within the cavernous surroundings of Tresor’s namesake Berlin club. There is a light power electronics flavour to some of the tougher cuts too that reminds one of Posh Isolation.
