Koova drops four works of electro on London’s brokntoys imprint. With an additional remix by Max Ravitz of Patricia acclaim, the producer showcases a body of work demonstrative of his abilities with dense, melodically constructed electro. One facet of the London Modular Alliance unit, Koova’s work is dedicated to electro in the same vein as the Hacker or DMX Krew. ‘Conducere’ reinforces the reputation Koova has developed following releases on renowned labels such as CPU, AC and Abstract Forms. The EP’s intro track is a disturbed synthesis of stretched sound, a catchy refrain condensed to the point of no return. ‘Sometimes There’s Nothing’ starts off more spatially aware, conducting sound from an endearing void, before a Kraftwerk-esque hook steadily takes off, enveloping listeners in its retrofuturist world.
