Man like Slugabed with a new EP on Activia Benz (DJ Mastercard, Iglooghost) here. Pandaemonium may be named after the capital city of Hell, but the six Slugabed originals on this EP aren’t quite as fire and brimstone as one would expect from the title. There is even a twisted beauty to tracks such as ‘Winter’ and ‘Milk’, both warping beat takes that bring to mind a degraded Teebs recording. Elsewhere on the EP ‘Cool Bong’ comes across like a punch-drunk Hudson Mohawke while ‘Boney Horse’ sounds like Clams Casino doing Soundcloud rap. The record is fleshed out by remixes from young pretenders Kai Whiston and the aforementioned Iglooghost.
