The producer/composer/arranger/trumpeter comes through with a succession of innovative jazz pieces on Love Matters!. The record dips its toe into many soundworlds, from spiritual funk (‘Mende Lolo’) to Afrobeat fusion (‘Be Kuti’) to post-bop paeans (‘Be Monk’).
