A compilation of Middle Eastern musicians selected by Fortuna is presented by the label and DJ crew for Tel Aviv restaurant Ha’achim. Only available locally spare a small batch of exported copies. Operating as a rough guide to Jaffa’s 70’s sound, the compilation features ten songs licensed especially for the occasion. One quarter of a series compiled by Tel Aviv’s most impressive club figures, ‘Hafla!’ contains an array of artists and lively sounds densely packed into one beautiful anthology. Although some tracks on the comp are guaranteed to get people dancing (the playful pop bassline of Nino Nikolaidis’ ‘Benin De Canim Var’!) other songs on offer are not as overtly dance focused and there’s something for everyone on this charming LP.
