Reissue of a Wackies classic here. Annette Brissett originally released ‘Betrayed’ through the label in 1983. ‘Betrayed’ is a dark and stormy dub-reggae tune that finds Brissett railing against those who have crossed her. This mix is a different one to that which appeared on Brissett’s Love Power LP (also 1983). The dub, mad available here for the first time, is as deep as they come. When ‘Betrayed’ was first issued the single came with Love Power highlight ‘What A Feeling’ on the flip. Here we get not one but two dubs of that tune on the B side. Both are killer versions - the way that the second one incorporates Brissett’s vocals is particularly good.
