Matthew Herbert has decided that his Accidental Jnr. label is the best place for him to reissue some of his old work. As such, the imprint is currently giving new life to 5 deep house EPs that Herbert made in the mid-’90s. 1996’s Part Four might be the best of the quintet. We wouldn’t be surprised to find out that Theo Parrish drew inspiration from the lurching shuffles of ‘Pen’ and ‘Pump’ when creating his seminal ‘Flowers’. Elsewhere on Part Four we get the leftfield Chicago jack ‘Take Me Back’ and the snappy, jazz-indebted ‘Resident’.
