Tessela’s Poly Kicks label seems a natural fit for a new release by Overmono, a duo that finds the ‘Hackney Parrot’ artist collaborating with his brother Truss. Overmono’s Arla EP series established the act as a purveyor of rave revivalism of the Special Request/Lone school, and the three tunes that make up Raft Living are crafted from a similar set of sonic tools. ‘Daisy Chain’ and ‘The Mabe’ are both 130/140-bpm breakbeat jams that blend old and new sounds stylishly.
