Central Processing Unit with perhaps their heaviest drop yet here. Yuri Urano is an Osaka-based producer who makes frosty, caustic industrial techno. While this isn’t the sort of sound one usually associates with the bleepy-bloopy pastures of CPU, the label releasing Urano’s Autline EP just … works. It may have something to do with Urano’s penchant for the same sort of busy 808 tracks that characterise CPU’s electro drops, or possibly the system-malfunction synths on cuts like ‘Pec’ and the title track. However they’ve done it, it’s impressive that this release has managed to draw a line between DMX Krew and Phase Fatale.
