Forward-thinking London label NYX Unchained push on once more with this compilation. Transcendence brings together established NYX-ers Lachrin and IVVVO with newcomers such as James Massiah and Tendency. Massiah opens the record with the powerful ‘Petrol’, a stark spoken-word piece that chronicles a series of violent attacks around London. The subsequent tracks all display similar tension, be they an abrasive post-Fade To Mind club take like Lachrin’s ‘Deity’, SADAF’s screeching ‘War Text’ or glitch-ambient of Alobhe’s ‘Durchreise’.
