Returning to Timedance after his 2016 release, Bristol producer Lurka drops ‘Heat Mover/Battery’. ‘Heat Mover’ starts off with a basic drum pattern that develops in gradual layers, taking several minutes to pop off fully, rising confidently in an ascent that’s focused on bass, whirring aural activity and a consistent stomping drum beat. ‘Battery’ is a dance track with a similar focus on afro-inspired drum beats in parts, a mesh of different genres through the lense of Lurka’s re-imagined reality. An interesting oscillation of bass and synth activity, Lurka’s work is an exciting piece of sound design for open-minded fans of post- dubstep evolution.
