Up-and-coming producer Otik debuts on Keysound with an EP of weighty club fare. The four originals on the Top Ten EP hybridise several strains of DJ tackle currently doing bits in UK dances. Bristol’s soundsystem techno style is certainly present in the austere grooves of tunes like ‘Top Ten’ and ‘Latex’. However, there are also discernible influences from the worlds of post-dubstep, UK Garage and funky house. Add in a fondness for dubby delays and the occasional eerie vocal sample and you have yourself some serious dancefloor ammunition. Blackdown turns in a twitchy remix of the title track for the digital release
