Bergsonist has been turning heads over the past couple of years with excellent drops on labels like Styles Upon Styles and TRAM Planet. The Morocco-born, NYC-based producer brings plenty of academic clout to her tunes - her name is a reference to Gilles Deleuze’s theory of Bergsonism - but also never allows that to get in the way of her creating some serious club tackle. This combination of aesthetic and immediacy is born out on Solyaris cuts like ‘Conflict In Yemen’, a fizzing and urgent techno track that one would imagine doing well at a Discwoman party. There is also a nice roughness to the sound-palette here that will appeal to anyone who enjoyed another recent Where To Now? release, Metrist’s Spoils EP.
