Twenty years ago Edward Upton issued his third LP as DMX Krew on Rephlex. The record in question, entitled Nu Romantix, was a charming collection of electro love songs that were as groovy as they were heartfelt. Fast-forward to the present day and Permanent Vacation are reissuing the album on double-vinyl. The tunes on which Upton sings - ‘Come To Me’, ‘You’re Not There’ - have the air of Gary Numan updated for the ‘90s dancefloor. Elsewhere sweet jams such as ‘Place Called Love’ are like a more innocent version of what Aphex Twin was doing around the same time. This new edition of Nu Romantix includes a bonus instrumental of ‘Come To Me’.
