The Marcia Blaine School For Girls have curated a double-disc compilation of the finest new Scottish underground electronica titled Some Paths Lead Back Again. Glasgow's burgeoning post-techno, experimental electronic scene as one of its strongest proponents, leaving behind them a trail of singles and compilation appearances on labels from Static Caravan to Benbecula, including Awkward Silence, Dalriada, Expanding, Struktur and Stuff Records. They have gate-crashed Sonar, played at the lab30 festival in Augsburg, and in the past year alone supported Isan, Jimmy Edgar, Yellotone, Joshua Treble, Mitchell Akiyama, Shadow Huntaz and Alias. On Some Paths Lead Back Again, MBSFG compile a showcase of the side of Scotland's underground hitherto relatively ignored, but no less fertile than the more famous indie-scene. It includes work from friends, collaborators, and side-projects, along with a stunning 12-minute piece of their own; In total 10 artists, over 19 tracks, and three Quicktime movies.
