A collaboration between the two Tokyo-based producers, including co-NCA owner, J M S Khosah, NCA SUR is a study on who’s documenting who in an era of insidious mass surveillance. A professionally dubbed cassette released by NCA, the London based tape label ran by Khosah alongside Brassfoot, NCA SUR is a freaky techno exploration of government scrutiny. Split, with each producer focusing on a side, expanded drawn out synth sounds combust into warped, paranoid episodes of sampled phone calls focusing on the mass surveyance and documentation of populations by their governments and rulers. “Who’s watching who?”, the tagline warns. JMS Khosah and JR Chaparro’s work functions as an experimental sonic red flag to those unaware of the dangers of twenty-first century surveyance.
