In 2017 Factory Floor were commissioned to write a new soundtrack for Fritz Lang’s dystopian sci-fi classic Metropolis. The film was celebrating its 90th birthday, and FF were to perform the work live for a special screening at London’s Science Museum. A year on and FF gear up for the release of the full recording (A Soundtrack For A Film, out October 2018) with a second 12” release of tracks from the score. A-side ‘Transform’, with its unflinching drum machine groove and frosty bassline, is classy and classic-sounding. The flipside ‘Wonder’ is slower and more cerebral - its spare beat and faraway synths brings to mind the second half of David Bowie’s Low.
