2000black (Domu, Nubian Minds) drop the latest collaborative 12” between Lord and label founder Dego. The four tunes of One Way To The Other are classic 2000black fare, which is to say that they’re deep, classy tunes of the Moodymann/Theo Parrish school. Things kick off with the title track, a slinky shuffle that sounds like a house version of Kendrick Lamar’s ‘These Walls’. ‘Oh It’s You Again’ and ‘The Island’ stick to the same vibe while finessing it with electro-disco synths (the former) and Roy Ayers-inspired keyboard noodling (the latter). Lord & Dego keep with the Ayers thing while winding the tempo down a notch for closing number ‘When You Get It’.
