Mad Zach currently lives in Berlin but is a native of San Francisco. That all makes a lot of sense when you listen to Out Of Body. The four tracks of this EP see the producer combine the lopsided bass sounds of California with in-your-face synth tones straight from the clubs of the German capital. You wonder if he might have a little Chicago in him too - there’s definitely a bit of juke in the DNA of ‘Dark Street’ and ‘Drawing Blood’. Mad Zach’s marriage of beat-wizardry and harsh atmospherics makes one think of Paul White and EL-P. Out via Alpha Pup.
