Opal Tapes are on something of a hot-streak at the moment, with recent drops from AJA and N1L garnering more plaudits than even your average Opal Tapes release. The Teesside label looks to continue that run with this new six-track release from The Subdermic. Morphology follows in the vein of the aforementioned N1L by looking to create post-club soundscapes of unrivalled force. There is real pain and anger to tracks like ‘Ballet Of The Sutres’ and ‘Rage 1st Movement’, and it’s no surprise that the latter eventually collapses into noise. A remix from Ossicle Phases keeps things stormy. Powerful stuff.
