Japan’s penultimate studio LP gets the reissue and remaster treatment. Gentlemen Take Polaroids is generally talked about as one of the group’s finest works. Comparisons to Brian Eno were forthcoming at the time of the record’s initial release in 1980 - particularly high praise considering that the Eno and Talking Heads masterpiece Remain In Light surfaced a couple of weeks prior to this full-length. The louche, poetic new wave of cuts like ‘My New Career’ and the title track also nod to Eno’s time in Roxy Music. Gentlemen Take Polaroids is also notable for containing the first instance of David Sylvian and Ryuichi Sakamoto appearing on record together - see closing number ‘Taking Islands In Africa’.
