There’s an interesting idea behind this release from the relatively unknown producer River Yarra (real name Raudie McLeod). The Australian artist has attempted to create a contemporary instalment of Brian Eno’s ‘Music For…’ series that looks to make - what else? - ‘Music For Social Medias’. While LPs like Music For Airports are now landmark works of ambient music, you’d be hard-pushed to describe the four tracks of Lucky Boy as ambient. Indeed, the likes of ‘Respiration alternée avec Elen Huynh’ and ‘Space Gekko’ are wacky leftfield Balearic club cuts in the vein of the recent Antinote releases from Alek Lee and Slowglide.
