The exciting Moog Recordings Library series adds Cabaret Voltaire keyboardist Chris Watson to a roster that also numbers Hieroglyphic Being, Charlemagne Palestine and Tony Allen. Watson is now best-known for his location recordings - he’s won BAFTA’s for stuff he’s done with David Attenborough - and he uses his time in the Moog Sound Lab to run some of his field work through the legendary electronics company’s System 55. It makes for a potent and eerie listen, with unidentified sounds flitting in and out of a mix that is peppered with alien synthetic tones. ‘Times Square’ and ‘Rockefeller Centre’ are particularly evocative.
