Ital Tek continues on the path into the unknown. His last LP - 2016’s Hollowed - saw the one born Alan Myson eschew the dancefloor for knotty experimental electronics. Bodied follows the lead of the previous LP as well as incorporating some of the more bombastic sounds that Myson has picked up from his recent work scoring video games. This is an icy, often obtuse record. Any eludings to Ital Tek’s more club-orientated output of yore comes in a form too abstract for dancefloor deployment - see the wonky footwork of ‘Lithic’, so mangled and sparse it more resembles Ziur or Arca than RP Boo. Plenty of the tracks here have a sort of Vangelis-does-club-deconstructionism thing going on, too.
