Steve Hauschildt presents his latest post-Emeralds excavation, ‘Dissolvi’. Summoning up a selection of ambient works across eight tracks, he produces an entangled world of minimalist techno and outer edges kosmische melancholy, which results in a truly fascinating and profoundly rich listening experience.

Dissolvi, a Latin phrase meaning "I wish to be dissolved", as an album title is the perfect depiction for the feeling that will overwhelm you when immersed deep within the music. As an artist and musician, Steve Hauschildt has always taken on a very explorative form when producing, yet here he seems to venture further out into the cosmos. If you allow yourself to fully sink inwards, its slowly unfolding liquid diamonds will reveal many gems.

Using the album as a capsule to set off in search of the sublime, Dissolvi showcases new levels to the music of Steve Hauschildt. He extends the rich tapestry of his catalogue both solo and as part of Emeralds, that revisiting it all now we can agree has become a true touchstone of 2000s home-recorded psychedelic noise music. It wouldn't be a misguided move to place Steve Hauschildt as one of the pioneers within the lineage of ambient electronic excavators that runs through the City Centre Offices label, most notably on Lilies by Arovane, via the fourth world wonderings of XYR and 12th Isle and through Editions Mego, Seefeel and Aphex Twin and backwards to the year zero component of Zuckerzeit by Cluster.

Dissolvi is not only a great leap forward for Steve Hauschildt as an artist but also shows him to be one who is consistently maintaining his artistic credentials while carving out a different, alternative path forward through the foggy underground of which new age is often seen as a trendy tag. By embracing new methods and philosophical curiosities, he has, in turn, expanded the range of his repertoire with truly sparkling results. Results that will shine strongly within his discography for years to come.
