Ossia’s Peng Sound imprint tend to keep it in the family. Their latest drop, a collection of reworkings of the title track from Dubkasm’s Concrete & Steel EP, is no different - remix duties fall to label favourites Gorgon Sound (Kahn & Neek) and O.B.F. The Gorgons turn in a typically tuff bit of contemporary dub, flipping ‘Concrete & Steel’ into a bouncy half-time stepper. O.B.F. get two bites at the cherry and decide to take things in rather contrasting directions. While their first version is a relatively typical dub cut, their second take is brilliantly strange. With the groove pitched somewhere between Ragga and the current West Country soundsystem techno style, O.B.F. throw jagged shards of sound into the mix with an almost industrial vigour.
