Back in 2014, Recital Program (Sean McCann, Roger Eno) quietly issued a new LP by Ian William Craig called A Turn Of Breath. An album of spectral, fragile beauty, A Turn Of Breath nodded to many other styles - the moth-eaten nostalgia tapes of The Caretaker, Richard Dawson’s modern Medievalism, the organic power of Bjork’s Biophilia - without really sounding like anything other than itself. A Turn Of Breath’s reputation has snowballed in the intervening years, so much so that we now have a reissue that ballasts the dozen originals with ten previously unheard bonus cuts. The extra takes are every bit as gorgeous as those of the main tracklisting.
