Fifth full length studio album from the mind of Alexis Georgopolous and his Arp project, released via Mexican Summer of course. The label follow up that excellent Gregg Kowalsky we were really into, with these 11 new tracks from Alexis, a collection spanning airy Balearic-tinged funk (‘Nzuku’) and heavy on the Japanese vibes cosmic downtempo (‘Fluorescences’). Arp seems to tread the line between 80s pastiche and forward looking fusion, marrying different influences but trying to make something that sounds very much his own at the same time. There are even hints of breezy Brazilian atmospheres on some of the tracks as well!
