DJ/producer Chris Liebing drops his first LP for over a decade via Mute Records. This release seems to be a big step forward for the veteran German - Liebing claims that he’s ‘wanted to do something like Burn Slow all my life’. The ten tracks of this album, rooted in techno and minimal club styles, are still identifiable as Liebing. However, the full-length format allows Liebing to experiment in ways that he simply wouldn’t have had time to on a short EP of club tools. His harmonic, rhythmic and textural scope is now wider than before, and when frequently anchored around contributions from guest vocalists it gives Burn Slow an excellent structural arc.
