Drums and Drones collide under the spell of Yeah Yeah Yeah’s drummer Brian Chase, a decade of work summarised into one long-form LP made up of nine individual compositions. Chase explores the concept of acoustic resonance of a single drum and manipulates recordings to create unique pieces that strongly defy the categories of ‘ambient’ or ‘new age’. Recorded in Northern California, Drums and Drones II is the process of four weeks of intense artist-in-residence meditation through sound.
