Neil Landstrumm and Unknown To The Unknown are a perfect pairing. So perfect, in fact, that it’s surprising that Go See Thru is the producer’s first release on the London label. The four tunes on this EP are typically energetic and wacky fare from the Edinburgh-based rave veteran. A-side cuts ‘DX Madness’ and ‘Rectorate Power’ wed clanging synths to 90s techno grooves. They’re the sort of jams that will give new life to any party. Landstrumm enlists the help of Brain Rays for the B-sides, and the one born Ben Hudson steers the EP towards bleep ‘n’ bass territory. ‘Sleep’ is a chirpy electro jam, while closer ‘Grape’ brings a louche half-time groove that wouldn’t sound out of place on the soundtrack of an ‘80s cop drama.
