Touch Sensitive (Autumns, Barry Lynn) release the latest bit of screen work by David Holmes. The Logan Lucky/Ocean’s Eleven composer’s music for Steven Soderbergh’s HBO series Mosaic is as tense and foreboding as the show itself. Vignettes like ‘I’ve Instructed Them To Check The Dumpsters’ are grandiose and mournful in a manner reminiscent of David Carbonara’s compositions for Mad Men. There is a Lynchian aspect to the free jazz-inspired ‘What I Want Is The Red Room’, while the droning synths of ‘Olivia Lake’ are reminiscent of Johnny Jewel’s soundtrack work. Mosaic’s highly evocative score sees Holmes expertly juggling several styles in order to create an uncanny, eerie piece.
