After a few years of laying low Daniel Avery has really put his stamp on 2018 - the London producer has released the LP Song For Alpha and two additional EPs in the first half of the year alone. On this drop we get Four Tet remixing Song For Alpha closer ‘Quick Eternity’ as well as Avery providing a more dancefloor-friendly edit of the original. Kieran Hebden’s lengthy version initially seizes on ‘Quick Eternity’s latent rave-revivalism, flipping the muted groove into a gentle breaks jam. Twittering synth arpeggios soon encroach on the track to turning it into a sunrise rave cut akin to some of the standouts from Caribou’s Swim. Whack on the b-side and we get Avery’s subtle, more mixable re-rub of his own piece.
