Absolutely insane and wholly unexpected reissue from the Sub Rosa gang here. Much like fellow experimentalist Richard H. Kirk, the music of Bill Laswell is both vast, unconforming and, over the years, impossible to pigeonhole. This CD only oddity from the mid 90s somehow blends illbient, downtempo, acid trance, elements of traditional Indian music and of course heavy dub vibrations with seemingly little effort. Sure, it’s definitely of its time in the way much of Kirk’s productions are, but this is still highly adventurous, futurism-inspired music that knocks loads of contemporary records out the park.
