Mancunian trailblazers A Certain Ratio are having their back-catalogue reissued by Mute at the moment. Completists will be pleased to hear that, along with classics like Sextet and The Graveyard And The Ballroom, that also means long out-of-print LPs like acr:mcr and Good Together. The latter, their sixth full-length, was originally released in 1989. It sees the group adding a little Madchester sensibility to their infectious punk-funk style - tracks like ‘Backs To The Wall’, for instance, incorporate gritty guitars and gospel-inspired vocals into their grooves. The acid love-in extends to the guest spots - Shaun Ryder and Bernard Sumner crop up with some vocals on the title track.
