Sprawling modular synth and sound sample deep listening gear on Touch from Mark Van Hoen. Recorded during a lengthy US tour with the likes of Philip Jeck, Pye Corner Audio, Marcus Fischer etc this is the first non-analogue synth album from Van Hoen in a number of years. He still manages to tap into the same mysterious textures and atmospheres as prior work but with an overarching feeling that sits somewhere between dread and excitement. ‘Opposite Day’ really struck a chord with us but this is probably one for sitting down and immersing yourself in fully.
