Charlotte de Witte has been consistently impressive since her debut release dropped on Turbo back in 2015. Since then the Belgian producer has turned out many tough wedges of techno in the central-European style. Brussels, her January debut on the revitalised NovaMute, was no exception, and now de Witte is back on the label with another set of high-calibre rollers. ‘The Healer’, ‘Silence’ and ‘Kuda’ are all excellent big-room cuts. Built on cavernous 909s, frosty synth chords and the occasional squiggle of 303, these tracks command the monitors with aplomb. The one curveball here is closer ‘Song Of The Wood Nymphs’, a beatless excursion into cinematic soundscaping.
